Same issue, Ubuntu 8.04, Dell Optiplex GX270 Here's my dmesg from the time I put in the stick (I have no CD-ROM drive, but I know on a hard-ware level that it uses a similar transfer bus to PATA for the front ports, but this problem occurs on the back USB ports as well).
