Public bug reported: Binary package hint: dbus
on an ubuntu installation originally installed as dapper then upgraded per recommendations to edgy, then to hardy I have had multiple issues where dbus-dependent applications (f-spot gvfs-mount etc) have refused to start - all with some variant of the error: The maximum number of active connections for UID <my uid> has been reached. the fix seems to be to include the max_connections_per_user limit in the /etc/dbus-1/system.conf file as defined here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=779992 (comment #5, although it specifies a different file that does not appear in my installation) release-information: lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.04 Release: 8.04 apt-cache policy dbus dbus: Installed: 1.1.20-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 1.1.20-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1.1.20-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: dbus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- max_connections_per_user not set correctly in ubuntu hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/233829 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
