Public bug reported: Binary package hint: glipper
In current Hardy, Glipper (1.0-1ubuntu1) works OK with mouse-selected text, but when it comes to keyboard use, the behaviour is somewhat strange, resulting in having a separate entry for every letter selected. To have an example of what I think is a bug, do the following: 1. Launch any text editor (GEdit will do), and print "Test message" in it. 2. As the cursor is at the end of the line, hold Shift key and press Right until the whole message is selected. 3. See the clipboard history. The last message in history would be "Test message", which is quite OK. But then you have a bunch of entries like est message st message t message message message essage ssage sage [...] I think it's obvious that while user is holding Shift key, (s)he has not yet finished selection, so updating selection for every new letter is inconvenient and causes users to actually lose the history of really needed previous selection, as the selection history becomes spoiled. Klipper, on the contrary, only updates selection when user releases Shift key, thus acting in more convenient manner. ** Affects: glipper (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Glipper floods selection history during keyboard selection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/233804 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
