I do use Compiz, however I have not turned it off since I installed it. I first noticed the crash when I was going to enter a directory and accidentally pressed LMB+RMB, I do that quite alot actually (I guess my mouse is too sensitive). It can get quite annoying, even though it doesn't happen very often. So thanks for taking the time to read through my bug report.
