I can also confirm both scenarios described above: 1) Resume from suspend results in a white screen instead of an unlock dialog. Blindly typing the password at the white screen results in unlocking the screen.
2) Resume from suspend results in a normal unlock screen, then I have a white box in the lower right hand corner of the screen that persists across all workspaces. I am running Compiz and have Desktop Effects turned on.
