I have the same problem. Some more details: It occurs not only in totem, but also in vlc and probably other players as well.
When I tell vlc to use X11 video output instead of Default or XVideo, the colors are fine (but I don't think I'm getting accelerated video rendering.) If I click Reset Hardware Defaults in the nVidia settings tool, it seems to fix the problem temporarily (but only until I reboot).
