Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem
Removing totem and installing totem-xine does not result in removing the totem that cannot play DVD's and replace it with the one that can. Steps to reproduce: - Install Hardy 8.04 - Remove totem - Install totem-xine The file /usr/bin/totem still exists, it's a symlink to /etc/alternatives/totem. The file /etc/alternatives/totem is a symlink to /usr/bin/totem-gstreamer. The totem-gstreamer package is not removed. What seems like the desired behaviour to me: - Removing totem means: remove these symlinks and totem-gstreamer should be removed - Installing totem-xine means: if totem is not installed, install totem-xine in the gnome menu (& and maybe set as default player for some media types) ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- totem does nut fully uninstall, leaves symlinks and totem-gstreamer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231541 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
