Found Dell/Vostro machine w/Ubuntu login screen this AM. I assume a power flicker led to reboot and initramfs loop eventually ended!
With this opportunity, I picked up 61 updates [10AM today] most installed, some errors noted. Checked again got 11 w/errs. Then got 33 more updates that installed cleanly requesting a re-boot. I could not!
