Public bug reported: I am running 8.04 on Power G5 (2*2.0GHz). Trying to watch movies using totem or vlc - or anything else (using xv extension). At some random point Xorg hangs - actually, it takes ALL CPU (I can login very slowly using ssh) - top reports 200% for Xorg (!). The picture freezes. Neither "kill Xorg" nor "kill -9 Xorg" help (actually, the last one frees a bit of CPU for ssh).
It is either Xorg server core or ATI driver (I have ATI 9800 Pro, Mac edition) ** Affects: xserver-xorg-driver-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- totem, vlc hang playing movies on power g5 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231241 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
