I've tried the different proposed solutions but none fixes the problem in my case. I still have sometimes the message:
../../src/xcb_lock.c:77: _XGetXCBBuffer: Assertion `((int) ((xcb_req) - (dpy->request)) >= 0)' failed. when calling wxWindow::SetCurrent() on a wxGLCanvas object after it has been created.
