Hi. some days ago, the filesystem on my harddisk crashed and i had to rebuild my complete installation. I restored a backup of Ubuntu 7.10 and updated again to 8.04 with all patches. After that, the menu behaviour was as normal as expected.
Maybe there was a fix in between or my former system had other problems. I think, we can close this bug, because it seems that it no longer exists.
