Hi Sebastien,

thanks for your suggestion and explaining how gconf-editor works.
First of all I don't want to start a big discussion about the senses of
gconf-editor like here #203877 :-)

But... if you write >>The way gconf works is that user settings are used<<
then my settings are "this app does not exist anymore so I expect you to remove
it", where there is no app, there are no settings for it. Easy coming easy
going or in other words user friendly not confusing.
Like "oh, the app is still in gconf-editor, didn't I remove it" there you go
looking with e.g. tracker where it is and no result and in synaptic it isn't
marked as installed.
Ok, I like my system and will remove the key by myself, but this program has on
the GUI no way to remove anything in the tree view. The app is there with empty
keys and pathways.
What is the support advising me, to use the terminal? Which doesn't work for me
either as I mentioned above. Ending up with it's not a bug it's a feature?

Wishlist: Expect to remove obsolete keys

Very short, off topic, I'd like to ask, in gconf-editor
desktop+gnome+volume_manager+authorun_path is the path
#.autorun:autorun:autorun.sh:autorun.exe:Autorun.exe
what has .exe to do in Ubuntu, is it for dual boot systems?
Package: gconf-editor 2.22.0-0ubuntu2 Hardy
8.04 LTS
I've upgraded since my last post.

Thanks for your patience.
