The bug is resolved upstream. Alex Deucher wrote a patch that resolved the problem. http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15914
Now it would be great if the patch is applicable to version 6.8.0 of the driver so it could be backported to Hardy.
