Hi
I have the exact same problem as many Hardy users, random lock ups.
No indication in logs and no blinking lights - only way out is to press and
hold power button in for 5 seconds and do a hard reset.
I have seen some patterns regarding this error, the following seems to
trigger it:
1. Playing a DVD iso rip in xine locks the machine after around an hour
2. Using USB storage. Both when mounting and doing file operations. It happens
both with flash memory and USB harddisks.
OS: Hardy Heron 8.04, with nvidia driver enabled in "Hardware Drivers".
Installed linux-backports-modules-2.6.24 according to Bug 203329 for my
wireless.
