Have you manually removed system folders (i.e. everything except /home) from the target partition between partition manager stage and base install? If so, you have also removed partman's new fstab file. Check the contents of /etc/fstab when prompted for CD. It might be blank with just one line reading: "UNCONFIGURED FSTAB FOR BASE SYSTEM"
