Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I am using Ubuntu 8.04 Network-manager is version o.6.6-0ubuntu5 I was trying to connect to my (unsecured) network, but instead of connecting, it just showed that it connected, and after about 30 seconds, and then returned to the computer icon. I have tried b43-fwcutter, which worked for about 5 days, then this started happen. I then tried to uninstall b43-fwcutter and install ndiswrapper, then it just shows connected at once, but no blue bars are showin (the signal strength bars). Later again, the spinning icon showed up when connecting, bt still couldn't connect. $ sudo lspci -vnn (Stripped to only network parts) 05:09.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4320] (rev 03) Subsystem: Belkin Belkin F5D7001 High-Speed Mode Wireless G Network Card [1799:7001] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 32, IRQ 19 Memory at f0500000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] 40:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Broadcom Corporation NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express [14e4:1677] (rev 01) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device [103c:3005] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17 Memory at f0400000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=64K] Expansion ROM at <ignored> [disabled] Capabilities: [48] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [50] Vital Product Data Capabilities: [58] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit+ Queue=0/3 Enable- Capabilities: [d0] Express Endpoint IRQ 0 $ lshw -C network *-network description: Ethernet interface product: NetXtreme BCM5751 Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express vendor: Broadcom Corporation physical id: 0 bus info: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:40.0 logical name: eth0 version: 01 serial: 00:13:21:5f:38:65 capacity: 1GB/s width: 64 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: pm vpd msi pciexpress bus_master cap_list ethernet physical tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt 1000bt-fd autonegotiation configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=tg3 driverversion=3.86 firmware=5751-v3.29a latency=0 link=no module=tg3 multicast=yes port=twisted pair *-network description: Network controller product: BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller vendor: Broadcom Corporation physical id: 9 bus info: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:05:09.0 version: 03 width: 32 bits clock: 33MHz capabilities: bus_master configuration: driver=b43-pci-bridge latency=32 modle=ssb *-network description: Wireless interface physical id: 1 logical name: wlan0 serial: 00:11:50:3f:8d:14 capabilities: ethernet physical wireless configuration: broadcast=yes multicast=yes wireless=IEEE 802.11g syslog during connect: May 12 11:39:10 henrik-desktop NetworkManager: <info> Device wlan0 activation scheduled...
