I'm running Edgy Beta 1 + 10/15/06 on a PowerBook 5,2 (1Ghz FW800) and I haven't run into this issue yet. Is there anyone out there with this issue that can post their cat /proc/cpuinfo so we could see what machines seem to be effected by this issue.
