its definately evolution issue! there is a problem with it and gmail. it worked fine in gutsy for me but in hardy i also have the same problem. I have tried all kinds of different gmail settings for evolution but non of them work for me! i.e. changing the ports . ssl tls. it does get the mail but it doesn't send it. even smaller ones than 150 KB (i'm sure everyone want it to work to it's max file output 10MB i think??). And by the way all this is ment to be simple and easy.
