Yes, I wrote that patch after I filed this bug report :-) I decided to dig a bit more into the problem and found that we needed a proper long term solution, not only on PS3 but on anything with a small memory footprint in fact (in theory, the same problem would happen with POWER5 or 6 partitions that are started with a small amount of memory for example).
