I have installed codecs and played a WMV file and same thing happens. I cannot play any media file without my system going black screened. Banshee cannot play MP3s but comes up with an error message that says "Error"??
I installed mplayer and it cannot play videos it just says error. I installed the smplayer gui and the system crashes when playing videos just like with totem.
