exploder: I've done all of the updates to Hardy and I can't report the positive outcome that you have. This bug seems rather elusive but not uncommon. I've read multiple threads on ubuntuforums.org which report the same issue.
There's a bunch of people that I would like to upgrade to Hardy but I simply can't because I will get numerous calls about their system being "broken" if they see this crap every time they shutdown their computer. Even if there was a workaround, I could live with that.
