I see this on Ubuntu and Ubuntu Studio but just with Jackd and Ardour. This DIDN'T happen in Gutsy. I did notice /dev/snd does NOT have audio group permissions PLUS the audio group wasn't on my system initially in Ubuntu Studio or Ubuntu.
I was able to get 11 second latencies on a Griffin iMic and was expecting better with a Behringer UCA-202 (both wall supported in ALSA).
