Sorry to say, the answer is no, a new account (either desktop or administrator) has the same problem. I've attached 2 screen capture images: network.png shows what keeps coming up that is wrong (password or pass phrase that it shows is 4 times the length shown in the png; network1.png shows what should be appearing. After manually resetting the password and reconfiguring wlan0 properties, everything works until I shut down again.
Hardware info: Dell Inspiron E1505 Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11 a/g Mini Card for Inspiron 6400/E1505 Bios Dell A17 (did the update to see if that would fix the problem) RAM 2 GIG Crucial Linksys WAP54G I added the wireless access point for the kids when they come to visit and for the OLPC computer, which has no problems with the setup. The OLPC is my traveling computer (not a lot of room in a motorcycle tailbag). Thanks for trying to fix this, John Sonderegger --- Basilio Kublik <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi there > can you reproduce this behavior using a new user account under an > up-to-date Hardy Heron system? > > thanks in advance. > > ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) > Importance: Undecided => Low > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > Wireless passwords lost when 8.04Beta is shut down. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209026 > You received this bug notification because you are a direct > subscriber > of the bug. > John Sonderegger [EMAIL PROTECTED] Propelled by Penguin Power Nekid bikes feel faster Hi to the government e-mail snoops; hope that you aren't too bored by my mail ;-) ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
