I have done some more experimenting with "Machine 3" from my previous message. Results:
- If I boot the machine, the press Ctrl-Alt-Del at the login screen (i.e. without logging in) and choose shutdown, the machine *will* shut down properly - If I boot the machine and log in, then choose "Turn off" via the KDE Menu, the machine will hang as described - If I remove "quiet splash" from the boot options, the machine *will* shut down properly, even if I do log in. I can still see the Networkmanager/dbus error messages described above during the shutdown process, though. Given these results, my guess is that X does also play a part in this - rather annoying - bug... -- system hangs at shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/138691 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
