I tried some of the above steps to spin down the drive before ejecting it, and now when I plug in the drive, it doesn't spin up at all, can't find it in /dev, or do anything with it. The drive works fine on other machines, so it's not the hard drive that's screwed.
Any ideas on how to get it going again? -- not proper dismounting for WD passport harddrive (making noise when unplug) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/117713 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
