Hello,

I can confirm this bug. Hardy Heron thinks my original WG511 card is a
softmac card (which uses the p54 driver), when it fact it is a hardmac
card, which uses the prism54 driver.

Here is the relevant dmesg output when the (incorrect) p54 driver is loaded:
[ 88.629267] cs: IO port probe 0xa00-0xaff: clean.
[   90.104775] PCI: Enabling device 0000:02:00.0 (0000 -> 0002)
[   90.104821] ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:02:00.0[A] -> Link [LNKA] -> GSI 11 (lev
el, low) -> IRQ 11
[ 90.104871] PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:02:00.0 to 64
[   91.651421] p54: LM86 firmware
[   91.651445] p54: FW rev 2.7.0.0 - Softmac protocol 4.1
[ 91.778047] phy0: Selected rate control algorithm 'simple'
[   92.162754] phy0: hwaddr 00:09:5b:98:3a:72, isl3890
...
[  121.245798] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready

this message keeps getting appended to dmesg from that point on:
[  176.094145] phy0: tx overflow.
[  176.094172] phy0: tx overflow.
[  176.182548] phy0: tx overflow.

[  176.271226] phy0: tx overflow.
[  176.271273] phy0: tx overflow.

Here is the dmesg output under Knoppix 5.1.1, where the correct prism54 driver
is loaded:
Loaded prism54 driver, version 1.2
eth1: resetting device...
eth1: uploading firmware...
eth1: firmware version: 1.0.4.3
eth1: firmware upload complete
eth1: interface reset complete
