Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
Release: Ubuntu 8.04 Package Version: 1:7.3+10ubuntu10 Expected to happen: Clicking the pointer button on menus makes them drop down and stay down. Clicking in text fields moves the pointer. Actually happens: Clicking on menus makes them flash down and back up. Clicking in text fields selects words. Clicking on window title bars maximizes them. Etcetera (i.e. single clicks are acting as double clicks) Since I upgraded my Thinkpad X31 to Hardy Heron from Gutsy Gibbon, single clicking the mouse button results in a double click, which makes the GUI very hard to use! My xorg.conf doesn't have anything weird in it, but I've put it at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dhuggins/xorg.conf for reference purposes. If I run xev and click on the xev window, I get this output: ButtonPress event, serial 27, synthetic NO, window 0x3c00001, root 0x56, subw 0x0, time 1158324, (170,161), root:(175,210), state 0x0, button 1, same_screen YES ButtonPress event, serial 27, synthetic NO, window 0x3c00001, root 0x56, subw 0x0, time 1158324, (170,161), root:(175,210), state 0x100, button 1, same_screen YES ButtonRelease event, serial 27, synthetic NO, window 0x3c00001, root 0x56, subw 0x0, time 1158373, (170,161), root:(175,210), state 0x100, button 1, same_screen YES ButtonRelease event, serial 27, synthetic NO, window 0x3c00001, root 0x56, subw 0x0, time 1158373, (170,161), root:(175,210), state 0x0, button 1, same_screen YES Strangely enough, the GDM menu seems to work fine. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- single clicks interpreted as double clicks on thinkpad x31 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227497 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
