Public bug reported: I am running Kubuntu 8.04 on 1-year-old Intel Mac mini. My Ethernet interface is "Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8053 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 22)". Driver is "sky2".
Sometimes I see messages like this in dmesg: .................. [506581.776654] sky2 eth0: rx length error: status 0x402300 length 64 [506586.400773] printk: 9 messages suppressed. [506586.400782] sky2 eth0: rx length error: status 0x402500 length 64 [506592.767796] printk: 6 messages suppressed. [506592.767805] sky2 eth0: rx length error: status 0x402300 length 64 [506598.361909] printk: 9 messages suppressed. ................. After that, connectivity is lost. I can repair it by reloading driver manually: ifdown eth0.100 ifdown eth0.200 ifdown eth0.300 rmmod sky2 modprobe sky2 ifup eth0.100 ifup eth0.200 ifup eth0.300 As you see, these are VLAN interfaces. With plain ethernet, the interface is hanging more frequently. The problem persists since Kubuntu 7.10. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- sky2 rx length error. No network after that. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227204 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
