Thank you for reporting this bug. I had the same problem today with the server version. I had to change (hd1,0) to (hd0,0) and the root= - statement from the UID to /dev/cciss/c0d0p1. The System has an internal disk which needs the cciss - driver and an FibreChannel connected LUN recognized as /dev/sda1. The system is an HP ProLiant DL380 G4.
