Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alsa-base

On my laptop, ASUS X57-AS022C (mobo m50sa), when inserting headphones,
no matter what options are selected, speakers are not muted.

lspci gives:
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio
Controller (rev 03)

tail -2 /proc/asound/oss/sndstat gives:
0: Realtek ALC888
1: Generic 1002 ATI R6xx HDMI

Kernel is hardy stock kernel 2.6.24-generic

Tried inserting various modes in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base, modes like "asus,
laptop, 3stack, 3stack-dig, lenovo etc".
Nothing has solved the problem.

System was working great on Gutsy.

** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
