Please note that upstream would be willing to release a new tarball with just this libDDC patch and autoreconf, calling that 2.9.0. Would this be acceptable as an SRU for 8.04.1?
The main advantage of upstream applying the patch and running autoreconf for us is that we'd keep the diff to a minimum, whereas running autoreconf ourselves would give us a pointlessly huge diff. Comparing the 2.8.0+git20080424-1 sitting in Debian with the 2.8.0-7 we have in Ubuntu should give everyone a fair idea of how this would pan out. -- [HARDY] Koolu W.E.
