The fix proposed by encbladexp seems not very difficult to do. It works for me too.
I hope that a fixed version of pyneighborhood 0.4 will be integrated in one of the next updates of Hardy 8.04, since many users have difficulties accessing shares with full permissions in Hardy. The fact that now the syntax of cifs has been adopted for smbfs too, and that therefore smbfs is mo more able to resolve netbios names (as it still could in Gutsy) makes a tool like pyNeighborhood very important!
