It's solved for me too since Hardy. There's one detail left, though: The icon of the trash applet doesn't get updated; if I delete something, the applet's tooltip will say that the trash is empty, and the bin will look empty. But if I open it, I can se the delted items. Once you open the Trash in Nautilus the status is updated.
