Regarding your particular issue, you should use powertop to watch what consuming your battery ( you need to upgrade to gutsy or hardy to be able to use it) Other suggestions: - add this in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-power blacklist uvcvideo # isight blacklist hci_usb # bluetooth blacklist ndiswrapper # wlan - follow the instructions at http://www.linuxpowertop.org/known.php - added Option "NoDRI" to xorg.conf if you don't use 3D - Workaround for a powernowd pb. In /etc/rc.local, put (before exit 0): cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate_max > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/ondemand/sampling_rate - Apply patch for appletouch - Removed the volume applet. A MacBook can reach more than 3hours under Ubuntu.
