I updated from gutsy yesterday, using a SONY Vaio VGN-TZ27GN. Anyway I have the same problem. Specifically, in the Screen and Graphics Preferences, I select the 1360x768 widescreen LCD panel but the highest resolution that is offered is 1024x768.
I am guessing that this is a bug in the actual program, like some kind of arithmetic mistake. Anyway as a possible short term fix, I propose finding some way of disabling all this easy-to-use stuff and being able to edit xorg.conf manually. Is there any way to do this?
