Note that when the bug this is marked a duplicate of is fixed it should allow you to at least use sudo, which is very important. We are aware that some upgrades cause the /etc/hosts file to become incorrect, however I have not seen any explanations of what could be causing that, if you have one that would be greatly appreciated. In the meantime making sudo usable for people hit by this is a very important thing to do.
