I tried the above method and it didn't work :(.  I now have wireless
recognized in the nm-applet :) but no networks are listed (and there
should be at least 2).  Also there is no longer a b43 option listed in
the hardware drivers manager.  The output of dmesg is alot (and I mean
ALOT) of this entry over and over again:

"[  548.561014] bcm43xx: Error: Microcode "bcm43xx_microcode5.fw" not
available or load failed."

Each at ascending system times (I'm assuming that's what that first number in 
the bracket is).
What should I do?  Is that file part of the firmware extract or something?
