I don't care whose problem it is -- if we can do something about it, we should. ..at the very least we should expose users to it and allow them to choose, in a simple fashion, which they want. It could even be something that's monitored, and checked against a hw db, or just checked once every hour / every two hours, and notifies the user if there's significant load cycle increase.
