Ken, I believe that is a separate bug. I had been using the backported versions of Puppet prior to upgrading to Hardy. But I believe that on the move from .22 to .23 or .24 all the certs break and need to be regenerated. At least that's what I had to do. You may want to file a separate bug for that.
