Just use Will's repositories and install the .17-openvz image.
It worked for me, just that it's not official yet. You can always deploy Will's 
image first while waiting for the official Ubuntu one to be released. 
Thereafter, just uninstall Will's image and then reinstall the official Ubuntu 
one.
Easier than compiling the kernel from scratch.

I'm sure someone is looking into it and I'm optimistic an official fixed
kernel will be out soon enough.
