Hello I'm having the exact same problem as Sam Davies, right after opening a folder with a avi file in it, the memory usage for nautilus goes to the roof. And I don't know if is the thumbnailer, because the second time I enter the folder (the thumbnail was alredy on cached) and the same thing happened.
