If you have the Medibuntu repository active, you can download skype-oss-
static that appears to be the same version as the latest ALSA build
(2.0.0.68+repack-0medibuntu3). You can use the padsp wrapper with that
version.

There's no need to get all hot and bothered; people here are trying to
ascertain the best way to configure PulseAudio. Using dmix, for example,
will introduce extra latency to audio output and increase overall CPU
usage. These are important issues and are relevant for many (especially
mobile) users. This is not a matter of "working" vs "not working"; it's
a matter of getting things to work in the most optimal way.
