I have the same problem with Hardy and the latest kernel (Linux pc1 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux) When it happens, a lot of messages are written to /var/log/messages (see attachment).
It is possible to "solve" this problem by adding "acpi=off" or "acpi=ht" to the kernel line but it is very annoying because the automatic shutdown doesn't work in this mode. ** Attachment added: "/var/log/messages" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13969264/messages.log -- kacpid hogs cpu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/192788 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
