8.04 upgraded via Update Manager from 7.10 My issue was resolved by rebuilding my top panel with only the custom menu bar, window selector, sys monitor, volume applet, battery charge monitor, clock, and quit. I also noticed that my trash was a bit full after the 7.10 upgrade and emptied that. Strangely enough there are a few things in trash that it can't seem to remove (httpd-2.2.8). Permission denied...
