Public bug reported: STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Initial situation: Intel 32-bit machine with up-to-date Gutsy 2. Perform Gutsy-> Hardy upgrade 3. Start Acrobat reader
EXPECTED OUTCOME: Acrobat reader starts without problems, as in Gutsy. ACTUAL OUTCOME: 1. Acrobat reader returns following error message: "There was an error while loading the plug-in 'PPKLite.api'. The plug-in failed to initialize". 2. After confirming error message, Acrobat Reader starts. KNOWN WORKAROUNDS a. Googled around a bit and learned that this plug-in depends on openldap (and possibly others) --> missing dependency? Did not test this because 1 went for workaround b. b, You can also disable PPKLite by removing execute permissions on /usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/Reader/intellinux/plug_ins/PPKLite.api. To the best of my knowledge, this disables digital signature checking on images. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Acrobat reader plugin broken after upgrade to Hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222996 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
