Just one more thing. This laptop suspends and resumes perfectly well under Ubuntu 6.10 running with fglrx and ipw3945, so it can be done. I skipped both 7.04 and 7.10 due to suspend/resume issues and was really hoping that it would just work by now. Sadly not. If you need any further information I will be happy to oblige.
