Public bug reported: When I initiate a suspend (by pressing Fn+Escape) the system suspends as expected in a couple of seconds. I can then resume okay by pressing the power button. However, if I then attempt to suspend the system again it fails to work. It goes through the motions but then fails and presents the lockscreen prompt to let me back in.
This is on a clean install of Ubuntu-8.04 on a Dell Inspiron 9400 with ATI X1400 graphics and Intel 3945 wifi. The system is using the radeon driver for the graphics card. Also, after resuming from the first suspend the laptop makes an annoying high pitched whine when idle. When either cpu core is busy the noise seems to go away. I have attached excerpts from /var/log/syslog for the 2 suspend attempts. The 2nd one is very different form the 1st one in terms of error messages. -- Glenn ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 8.04 ati suspend -- Suspend fails after first time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
