Public bug reported: Binary package hint: usplash
The forced disk check after every 20 mounts is a problem in itself. I suffered on many occasions because of this. It often happens that I have very little time, and have to do something (like some urgent data transfer to thumb drive) . I got delayed by atleast 20 minutes( my hard disk is 250 GB). This can happen to anybody. Although the frequency for this forced disk check can be changed, ( Let's say we change it to 60 times, ) but the problem is far from resolved. What is required is a simple yes/no option( to do it next time). Something Like this: " /dev/sda1 has been mounted 30 times, Disk Check Imperative. Press any key to postpone disk check and continue booting , in 10 seconds......." (put in a countdown timer). What difference does it make if a postpone option is put?????? Even MS Windows (a closed source OS) has the option to skip the disk check until next reboot. Why is Ubuntu( Open Source) lagging behind? ** Affects: usplash (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: usplash (Debian) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: usplash (Debian) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- forced disk check after every 20 mounts should be postponable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222112 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
