I looked at the Python 2.4 packages in my apt-cache, but can't find it
either. What is also strange is that it only seemed to affect one of my
3 Dapper machines.

What I *think* could of happened is that I somehow had some other
package installed that supplied its own /usr/lib/python2.5/UserString.py
and the installation on python2.4-minimal made a call to this file as
part of its install process. This led me to believe the problem was in
python2.4-minimal.

I'll do a bit more investigating as best I can, but this may turn out to
be a dead end. I wish I could find some log of apt's last upgrade run.
