Using as well: Kubuntu Hardy Heron KDE 3.5.9 Linux 2.6.24-16-generic xorg-driver-fglrx 1:7.1.0-8-3+2.6.24.12-16.34 (ATI Radeon 9800 Pro)
Got the same promblem here on Kubuntu Hardey with an ATI Radeon 9800 and the fglrx driver, but only in combination with compiz. I tested several compiz startup parameters without success.
